Born to inspire beyond the skin: International School of Derma
Judit Mompín
Head of the International School of Derma
We analyze the role of the International School of Derma in a world where access to knowledge is easier than ever and yet, we increasingly need to fight misinformation, especially in fields such as health. This is how our dream was born: democratizing knowledge in dermatology. In this sense, we will talk about how the ISD, organizer of the symposium, has changed the rules of online learning in dermatology and its alliances with the University of Barcelona and DermaJAL.
Fotobiología y radiación UV en México
Dr. Jorge Ocampo
Head of the Dermatology Service, UANL University Hospital, Monterrey Former President of CILAD
We will delve into the photobiology of the skin, focusing on the physiological implications of UV radiation and highlighting its effects on cell damage, skin aging, and skin cancer risk. Additionally, current UV radiation conditions in Mexico, characterized by a persistently high UV index, and its implications for skin health will be addressed. Trends in the incidence of skin cancer in the country and the future perspective regarding the effects of chronic damage caused by prolonged exposure to UV radiation will also be discussed.
Los ritmos circadianos de la piel
Dr. David Baeza Moyano

We will talk about the relationship between circadian rhythms, melatonin and skin health, the skin's peripheral clocks, the relationship between UV radiation and dermatological diseases and sleep disorders in people with skin pathologies.
Radiación UV y cáncer de piel
Dr. Josep Malvehy
Director of the skin cancer programme, Hospital Clinic of Barcelona

Polución y cambio climático
Dr. Rodrigo Roldán Marín
Associate Professor and Head of the Oncodermatology Clinic of the UNAM Faculty of Medicine
The effects of pollution on the skin will be addressed and the synergy between UV radiation and pollution will be discussed, and how this especially affects some regions of Mexico. In addition, how pollution aggravates skin diseases will be explored and anti-pollution strategies will be analyzed.
La importancia de la fotoprotección
Dr. Sara Gomez
Dermatology specialist, Hospital Clínic de Barcelona
We will go over the main photoprotection methods, how to adapt them to each phototype and how to use them. Also the importance of its use in the prevention of skin cancer and how it affects the synthesis of vitamin D.
