Acute Stress and Skin Aging
Ariadna Masó, Dr. Sebastian Podlipnik
This video is a segment from the podcast Casa Salud by SANNO, developed in collaboration with the International School of Derma (ISD). In the video, guest Sebastian Podlipnik, MD PhD, explains how stress affects the skin. Acute stress is normal, but when it becomes chronic, it turns into pathological stress. This keeps the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis constantly activated, increasing cortisol and catecholamine levels, such as adrenaline. On the skin, this leads to oxidative stress, inflammation, and free radical production, which can accelerate skin aging and impact its health. To watch the full episode, visit this link.
